Merseyside Lowland Search and Rescue

A highly trained team of volunteers who are on constant alert, ready to search for high risk missing people on behalf of Merseyside Police.

What do MerSAR do?

Merseyside Search and Rescue are on call 24hrs 7 days a week to assist Merseyside Police in the search for High Risk Missing People across Merseyside, they are also available to assist other Lowland Rescue Teams across the United Kingdom whenever required.

The team consists of Search Technicians, Team Leaders, Search Planners and Search Managers. Each team member is qualified to provide basic medical treatment to treat the wounded whenever neccasary.

Some members are also qualified in various other area that can assist with Search and Rescue such as High Risk Confined Space, Working at Height, Major Trauma Care, extrication and much more. 

How are MerSAR funded?

Team members are highly trained, professional and unpaid volunteers from all walks of life. MerSAR is a registered charity (1166213) and you will very often see both operational and non-operational volunteers fundraising at various events and locations in Merseyside. They do not receive any Government funding so rely on fundraising and donations to raise money for vital equipment and medical supplies such as medical equipment, vehicle expenses,
